In this 6-week colour theory course, Julie Seddon will teach participants traditional colour theory exercises such as the colour wheel and monochromatic scale. Drawing from art history, students will come to understand acrylic paints' range of effects and create a series of studies to put what they learn into practice. Focusing on colour through a study of Minimalism, Colour field, Impressionism, Symbolism and Cubism students will learn how to create works of art in different styles with attention to colour and its effects on the viewer and ourselves as artists. Instruction will be given on colour mixing and blending, and demonstrations will be given throughout the classes.

Suitable for those at the beginning of their painting journey or new to acrylics, students will come away with a better understanding of colour and some fantastic pieces of art in different styles. All materials included, no experience necessary!
